I was living alone 10 years ago when a kitten climbed up the stairs to my apt and pestered me. Wouldn't leave me alone. And I disliked cats too. It looked to be a couple months old and very scrawny so I fed it. She's still with me and I she's my baby. Hope it works out for you where you can keep her. Good thing no one got hurt, that sounds like it could potentially get ugly.
