Mmmm…
I’m exhausted. And I’ve come to find, I really don’t like plastic. Liner is probably the most boring thing I have ever done. Granted, we’re QC (quality control) so we have to be out there and I don’t think there’s anyone I can trade jobs with currently. What’s frustrating is that everyone speaks spanish. The french I know has helped out a bit, but not enough to communicate.
Though, I’ll have to admit, the crew there is pleasant. They’ve made it their soul mission to teach me spanish before their gone. Heh…
My main duty is to log panels they place down with the roll numbers the panels come from. I also note who makes what seams between which panels with what machine. That means alot of walking, up and down side slopes. After about a week, I managed to convince the person training me that I’m quite capable of figuring out where to mark off destructs. Destructs are sections cut from the seams that are ran in a tensiometer (sp?) for peel and shear strength. We haven’t found any that have failed yet, but you never know.
And that’s what I’ve been doing for the last two weeks. Exciting, eh?
I saw my father last sunday. It was good to see him. Carol was kind of bitchy though. Like I wanted an hour or two with just him. Heaven forbid he should leave her alone at the hotel just so he could spend time with a daughter he hasn’t seen in 4 years. He helped me go get a couch and well, tried to apologize for her behavior. I told him don’t… she’s never liked me or Sarah. She really hasn’t liked us much because we did something with our lives unlike her children.
What can I say? My parents raised me with goals and showed me how to obtain those goals. She’ll just have to live with the fact that I can actually pay to take them to dinner and provide for myself without having to run to someone for money.
Anyways, I’ve signed up with NaNoWrImO this year. If there’s anyone out there that’ll be participating and want to add me as a buddy, go for it. It looks like I’ll be sitting in a truck come november because of weather, which means I’ll have alot of free time to write (or to take naps, we’ll just have to see). Wish me luck!

I also picked up this book. I have wire on order and I cannot wait to get started. The designs in this book are absolutely gorgeous. And the technique doesn’t seem to be too difficult. I also picked up a book on making chains. Now it’s just a matter of patience for my wire order to come in. ::sigh::
