Dream Silently

…and all I loved, I loved alone.

So…

It was pouring buckets yesterday. So I got to be in the office for a while. As a result, I also didn’t have to go out there today. I got a call yesterday evening telling me to sleep in.

My QC partner on this project, went out in the morning (he’s the main person… they highered him for liner, so he gets to be the required person out there. I’m just extra help). There was snow on the ground. The contractor, who is from warmer states (and therefore not use to snow), ended up rolling his truck with 5 other people in it.

I saw the pictures. It’s pretty much toast.

So tomorrow, it looks like I’ll be in the office. Unless I get a phone call crying for help. I have a feeling this project will be pretty much shut down for the next week or so.

::does ecstatic dance::

You could almost bet that I was wishing for this really hard.

Clearing off my camera, I couldn’t pass not sharing this. Mostly because the fog, the sky, and the clouds are absolutely gorgeous.

Heh…

I just realized that I haven’t updated in nearly 3 weeks. Where to start?

Well, I hate liner. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.

Multiply that by infinity.

I think the reason I dislike it so much is because I stand around and watch people work. I mean, periodically I jot something down, but it takes a whole ten minutes to do. Which means, I stand around with too much time to think about things. And I don’t want that. Not one little bit. Because then I get disgruntled about things.

Let’s put it this way: I worked 80 hours last week. And it doesn’t feel like I accomplished anything. I actually almost had a breakdown on friday because of how exhausted I’ve been feeling. I really wish I could have talked to Joe.

They finally blacked the pond out today with the secondary layer. There’s three layers altogether. The secondary is a low density liner, 60 mil in thickness. The next layer is geonet. The final layer, called primary, is a high density liner, 80 mil in thickness.

Tomorrow is not looking too good. It’s suppose to be raining and snowing all day. So effectively, the now fully lined pond is going to be a swimming pool. We can’t continue to deploy liner if it’s continuously wet (stuff gets slick, etc). Which means I’m going to have to work again this weekend. Both days. Great. Wonderful.

Feel my excitement.

Onto fun stuff.

Despite working so many hours, I have been getting out and having fun. I guess. Fun with coworkers. heh… to describe the details would take too long. Though, on saturday, I went to a costume party and managed to stay sober much of the night. We did alot of dancing. My feet were killing me. I went as a Saloon girl and it’s been ages since I’ve worn heels.

And that in itself is a funny story. I ordered this female pirates costume online, right? I get my package last thursday and I’m all excited. Pop it open and what do my eyes behold? Gandolf the wizard costume.

I was so pissed.

KE, who was hosting the party and has been for the last few years, lent me one of the extras he and his wife keep around. I was so grateful.

All in all, saturday was fun. It was nice to dance with other people who didn’t have a rhythem either. biggrin

And finally, a recent piece I just did… my first fanwork….
