…and all I loved, I loved alone.

There is Glitter Everywhere

I think, no, it has to of been the doing of our office manager.

Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me. I smell like a monkey, and I act like one too.

I’m actually the first one at the office today. I come in and I notice that my office door is like nearly closed. I’m the only one in this area, so I’m thinking to myself, why the heck is my door closed?? I didn’t close it last night.

Pop it open and there’s cupcakes on my desk, a pink lay, a candle with helium balloons and a crown that says happy birthday… and glitter. It’s everywhere. Across my keyboard, across my desk, across my chair and floor…

Oooo, G had fun, she sure did.

biggrin

I’m in a good mood. Things are going okay with Joe and we’re leaving tomorrow to go to Dad’s for christmas. Thanks for all the comments on the previous entry… I still haven’t heard back from the bank, but I did get warned that it could be until after christmas before I’ll know for sure. ::sighs::

Holy Cow

I don’t even know where to start. I’ve been busy, but I haven’t been busy.

First, the christmas party was a blast. I wish I could destroy the pictures. I hunted chucker and pheasent as well and now have bird in my freezer. Also went to see the broncos vs seahawks game where the broncos lost. I wasn’t that impressed… I’m too much of a hockey fan. Then again, I didn’t pay for the game so it works out.

Next, I had my performance appraisal. I have been promoted to an Engineer 2. Goals of the company for 2007 is to get me into more design work and learning LDD. They also want me to head a small project, where I would have my own team of techs and such. I also got a huge raise and christmas bonus.

Finally, I’m waiting anxiously to hear back from a home loan advisor. I may be buying this small townhouse/conduminium that a fellow coworker is selling. Wish me luck… I can already hear purring.

Quick and dirty summary, I know. Joe was suppose to be coming in today, but he missed his flight. We’ve rescheduled it for tomorrow… ugh, I want him here today.

Etsy

I found this really neat place for selling and bidding on handmade items. It’s called Etsy. I’ve been debating for some time now on selling my jewelry. I’ve just been deciding on how to approach it.

Do I want to mass produce a piece?
Do I want to do custom and unique pieces only?
Do I want to do commission work?

The answer to the first question is no. That I’m absolutely positive on. I hate remaking things and I loose interest in it quickly. Especially if it’s a heavily intricate design.

The answer to the second question is yes. I do want to make and sell one of a kind pieces. Essentially, if I ever became uber awesome, someone who owns a piece by me could be worth alot. I know, it’s just dreams.

The last question I’m not sure on. The problem with working through a commission is that you don’t always get the option to add your uniqueness to the final product. Not to mention, clients can be nightmares (I’m sure many of you could atest to that).

Anyways, Etsy seems like a probably place to start. The key to “bigness” is to start small, right?
