Happy New Year?

Posted in: Everyday

2007 seems to have snuck around the corner and gobbled me. As all of you know, Joe has been around for all of the holidays. He’s been trying to beat FFXII for the last three days. Stole the game from under my nose.

And just for his amusement: Joe is a lazy ass. And he’s all mine.

There are other things I could talk about right now, but I’ll hold off until after he leaves and I can concentrate a bit better.

So, here’s a sneak preview on what I’ve been painstakingly working on for the last week and a half (only to find it doesn’t want to work in internet explorer! Everyone is now commanded to get a mozilla based browser. Yes, I’m the boss. That’s right. ::grumbles about the lack of a universal browser::)

Pretty! I like the new layout.

    Boyfriends - aren’t they wonderful?

radioblogclub.com - that’s the link you had wanted. I was actually wondering what you use for your comments. Oh and what’s that gravatar thing at the bottom?

Good layout. The 1st rule i always followed when making websites back in the day for myself. “If the layout of the site sucks, it’s the visitor’s fault that he is using the wrong browser.”

Faythe: Gravatar is a universal avatar system that commenters can use to give themselves an icon to go with their comment.

This little Kobold, Dekin, follows me around to any of the boards that use gravatar because it is assigned to my email address… that can still be hidden from the general public. You should check it out at Gravatar.com

Love the new design. I suck because I still have to use IE for work. Our application can only work in IE. Boyfriend installed another browser on my personal laptop that he somehow confiscated and never see so I can use that if need be.

Faythe - The comments are built into the wordpress system. Though, I have been debating on switching back to haloscan. However, that means I wouldn’t be able to use my own smilies glasses The gravatar is exactly as Karnov said. It follows you around using your e-mail address. It’s actually really nice and makes things feel more personable. The sign up box is from gravatar and it sends an e-mail with the details. I thought it nice to add for those trying to figure out how to get an icon by their name.

Karnov - lol, I try to compensate for the popular browsers (mainly IE or Firefox). Everyone else can then suffer biggrin

Thao - I’ve made some adjustments and it’s looking fine in IE… for the moment. I have to clean up my code and add a few more things before I see what it finally looks like. I use IE and firefox at work. It’s great having admin privs on my work computer. I’d get rid of IE altogether because of the security vulnerabiltiies, but anyone who borrows my computer would then get pretty confused since not all of them are “computer savvy”.
