…and all I loved, I loved alone.

To Joe

This is the strangest way to do things, but my hands are tied. He can’t get into his regular e-mail account and the 2nd e-mail he gave me isn’t working either. I also don’t know his parents’ home phone number. I know he reads here when ever he gets a chance, so please disreguard this message or laugh quietly to yourselves ;P

Joe, call me, please! It doesn’t matter when. I need to find out just how much leave you have because I may be able to fly back to GA for a few days when you go back. But you need to call me ASAP before the ticket prices jump again. I’ll be checking my messages and hoping that we land in a good spot for cell reception on site today. Or call me in the freaking middle of the night. I don’t care! Just call me!

I’m… like Vader?

This so surprised me. The last time I did a Star Wars personality test, I was most like Yoda.

Stolen from B Sheep.

Darth Vader

According to our patented JawamaticTM technology, you are most like Darth Vader in personality.

Vader, being a merciless Dark Lord of the Sith, is a black-hearted autocrat. Beyond that, he’s an expert tactician, using his abstract reasoning skills to quickly assess a situation and anticipate his opponent’s next move. He would make an excellent chess player.

Vader is, in a word, strategic.

(The polar opposite of Darth Vader is Chewbacca.)

The eight profiles are as follows:

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Thought of the Day

It’s always nice to receive surprises. It’s even better to be the surprise.

Something Fresh

I was getting tired with the other layout. This will probably be the only free time I’ll have to create something fresh for this site until the end of construction season in October. Mostly, it’s an improved version of the previous base template (corrected code, template tags, and updated plugins) with fresh colors and graphics. I’ve also decided to try and simplify my navigation and other sidebar things.

And, hey, look! The archives are working properly now!

As with any new thing, let me know if you find something that totally goes whack.

The image is from the preview for Final Fantasy XIII. I thought it fitting since I’m currently obsessed with FFXII and have been working in the evening to try to get that game finished.

Not much more is going on. My boy should be back in the states either today or tomorrow and then I just have to bide my time until this next Saturday to go and pick him up in Salt Lake City. It was way cheaper for him to fly between the big airports than to fly all the way to Elko’s tiny one on such short notice. I promised him that he could drive my truck. biggrin

This next week is looking pretty busy. I’m headed to Mount Hope to continue the investigation out there. And here’s the drawback: there are no hotel rooms available in Eureka. The drillers are gong to be staying in Carlin (about 45 minutes to an hour from site) and I’m going to survive driving from elko to site (about an hour and a half commute).

Do you know what I realized the other day? It’s not the work that wears me out, it’s the driving back and forth.

Anyways, I’m off to clean the house so it’s in some decent shape by next weekend.

I realize that it looks like crap in IE. So, that’s more of a reason to go get firefox. Or suffer… I’m probably not going to bother with making it browser compatible.

What Couldn’t Be

Was it her roving eyes that gave her such haunting beauty? I remember walking in the courtyard, my sword handle glistening with it’s sparkly jewels in its holder, when I found her, sitting on a bench. She was reaching out to smell a perfect, yellow rose. It stole the breath from my lips to see this fair lass dressed in rouge.

She turned her head towards me, her lips pursing at being disturbed. Such perfect lips were they, I could immediately see myself meeting them with a sweet and simple kiss. Running my hand through her brunette locks was an intriguing idea as well. And to untie the strings of her corset…

But, as most of my status did, I walked passed. We were simple strangers, not friends that would grasp each other in a hug nor would there be tears of sadness and happiness shared between us.

So, I sit here now, in my single barrack room, dreaming about a bonnie lass I shall never see again.
