However, now that I'm in a job I love, I'm trying to figure out what the hell I was thinking. I also do believe that if a person were to apply themselves, they can get any job/do whatever they want. Of course, I also have a habit of believing that if I can do something/have done something, then other people can too. But that's a discussion for another time... My experience is that if the job is acceptable then they will more than likely stay if the colleagues are worth staying for, social more than business-like.
