Prompt #1
Write a story about betrayal, when a lifelong friend turns his back on the protagonist.
His hands shook with anger as his bestfriend turned away from him and slammed the door in his face. His skin crawled with betrayal as the music inside changed beats. Why? How could Gary do that?
He hadn’t even said sorry. Couldn’t even apologize for stealing his girl!
In the back of his mind, his dad’s voice echoed, “Be a man son. Be a man.” Then why did he want to cry? Why did he want to break down and bawl like a little baby? They hadn’t even clued him in on their little charade.
It had all been Roger, calling him an oblivious oaf to his girlfriend’s actions. His skin prickled again as his thoughts turned to Sheri, his nails digging into the palms of his hands.
She had been kissing him, that miserable excuse of a wanna be man, when he’d walked in and seen them on the couch. Gary had been grappling her, feeling her… his teeth clenched until it felt like his jaw was about to break. He turned from the door and began to walk away.
He would show them. He would show all of them.
Dad kept a shot gun in the garage and it wasn’t locked up.
Ah… the shotgun. The original point-and-click interface.
