Blizzards and Staying Awake

Posted in: Everyday

My shift ended early on friday. I ended up only working 5 hours. But, getting back to the apartment and trying to stay awake without waking people up, sucked. Nome got hit pretty good with a blizzard. Its warmed things up. I keep teasing KL about getting suited up with his carharts and stuff. I just go out with a jacket and some jeans. I don’t even have long johns on. :D

Work was cancelled on Saturday as well. I ended up watching tv and such. I probably should have went to the bars and got drunk. I would have done that on friday, but the bars in Alaska are not like those in Nevada. They close at 2 in the morning and the liqueour stores close at 11. For those who don’t realize, they’re 24/7 in Nevada and you can buy it at the grocery store.

So, my pet peeve for today? Someone took the flipping shovel out of the bed of the pickup. Its rather difficult to get a sample with your bare hands and an extra bucket. To top things off, someone took out all the hard hats in the truck. I had to go all the way back to the office and then I was lucky there was even an extra hard hat there. I have this feeling that they’re all in JP’s truck and I’m so going to raid it when I get off shift.

Besides that, things continue to be slow. I haven’t decided yet if I’m looking forward to going back to Elko. I do miss my kitties though.

On side notes, Whispers has finally been completed and is fully functioning. I’ve also added a few new images over at my DA account.

Ahhhhh! 5 hours work, that sounds better, still can’t get over th 10, 12 or more hours a day :???: On your side notes though….I enjoyed reading the poems, especially the self conscious feeling of insecurity portrayed in She watches them…wonderful. smile

Oiy… at least I got to work. I’m not working again tonight and I think my eyes are going to start bleeding from watching television. Oh and playing the Sims lol

I’m glad you enjoyed the writing… that particular one stayed buried in a journal until my sister stumbled across it. It’s why it’s dedicated to her. :)
