Dream Silently

…and all I loved, I loved alone.

Returns, Painful Activities

So, first, Joe is finally coming back to the states. I got an e-mail from him this morning and all I can say is that its about time. So, like, he won’t be here like this instant. They have to trek out or something to their like main base of operations and then from there he’ll be headed back. Exact dates still unknown, but soon.

My week has been eventful. I dropped the top of a modified split spoon (used for soil sampling while drilling) on top of my foot. It missed the steel toe part. There is this beautiful, painful, purple bruise forming along the side of my big toe. To add to that, I played ultimate frisbee this week. I’m now sore from the running my ass off and having to dodge and run back the opposite direction. Add in the bruised foot and its amazing I lasted 40 minutes.

The merger of my company is proceeding. I didn’t get too much extra out of it except for 3 extra holidays. Thankfully, no pay cut. And, I still can transfer to Denver (or else where… there’s a Reno office too) if I want. We were basically given a heads up on what to expect before the representative visits us. If anyone isn’t accepting the contract, their last day is friday. We have one quitting because she doesn’t like the health benefits (boohoo, you actually have to pay a deductible). SWC gave us an HSA (health savings account) account to compensate for the high deductible. From what I could tell, the copays are not tragic, but what health plan is totally awesome? I’m certainly not going to quit just because I can’t get my teeth checked twice a year or I actually have to pay for prescriptions. I think I’m too use to living between a rock and a hard place.

The company were merging with? Amec.

Actually Playing Hostest

So, it was spur of the moment, my specialty. A few of us have been wanting to go bowling and some how I ended up being the usurper in rounding up all the details and organizing it. So, it’s dinner at my place and then bowling at about 9:30 because that’s when the lanes open up for cosmic bowling. I think its going to be a blast.

Dinner is going to consist of plank cooked Salmon with rice pilaf, salad, and garlic bread. I picked up two fruit pies for desert, a mulberry and a rhubarb strawberry. I’m not quite sure how many are going to show up, but I figured you can never have too much food.

This week has been kind of an up and down roller coaster, stress and emotion wise. It feels like there is a ton going on when there really isn’t it. And then, I injured my truck. I bent the front end of the frame up underneath from hitting a rock. Joy.

Finding Inspiration

I went looking for inspiration the night before, hence the widget post. No, I didn’t make this layout, but it did strike a chord with me. And so I’m hoping to be inspired.

My sweety says I don’t write here enough anymore. I try though, I just feel lost when I see the big blank white box. This place is suppose to let me spill my thoughts out, but I find myself guarded or maybe its because I have too much on my mind that its hard to pick one thing to discuss. Of course, writing an entry that skips through different thought tangents is not unlike me.

I just really don’t know why I’m finding it tough to write.

But, I’ll try to be better. I have been posting at least once a week, so I should get a little credit for that, neh?

Mario Brothers Widget

I’m starting to experiment… MWAHAHAHAHAHA

The ads suck, but gawd.. it brings amusement!

Bumming at Work

I have nothing to do. Well, I have nothing immediately important to do.

I’m waiting on TS to bring scales back to the lab on site, the contractor is officially kicked off site, which leaves me with making up paperwork things to do or fiddling with the format of my excel tables.

It’s really not enough to kill the boredom I’m feeling. Add in that I’m printing things off for school… and wishing I brought my books with me. I could of studied.

Plans for the weekend changed. I didn’t get to go boarding, mostly because I thought I’d be drilling on saturday. When that didn’t happen, I decided I didn’t want to drive several hours and preferred to be lazy. Ended up being social friday and saturday night. I did not get drunk, but I was pretty tired when I got home. Cranium is my new favorite game too.

This week looks to be interesting, at least on tuesday. Ultimate Frisbee is beginning again, and I’ve been told I must participate. I haven’t played that game since I was like a freshman in college. nostalgia

Nothing else exciting going on.
