A 90s Kid
THE 1990’s
If you’re under the age of 11 or 12…you shouldn’t even read this,
and if you do, you should not repost this.
Just because you were born in ‘97 doesn’t mean you’re a 90’s kid.
It’s not like you could remember the original Simpsons.
I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90’s just wont cut it.
You’re a 90’s kid if:
You remember watching:
-Keenan and Kel
-Doug
-Ren & Stimpy
-Pinky and the Brain
-AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
-Rockos modern Life.
-Animaniacs
-Gargoyles
You’ve ever ended a sentence with the word “PSYCHE!”
You just cant resist finishing this . . . “Iiin west Philadelphia born and raised . . .”
You remember:
-Step by Step
-Family Matters
-Dinosaurs
-Boy Meets World
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You remember reading “Goosebumps”
You still get the urge to say “NOT” after (almost) every sentence . . . not
When everything was settled by:
-rock paper scissors or
-bubble gum bubble gum in a dish or
-ms. mary mack all dressed in black black black
when kick ball was a daily activity
when we used to obey our parents
You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time on a tape.
You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular. We had both :D
You remember The Original Game Boy. Still have mine actually…

Windows 95 was the best.
You watched the original cartoons of
-Rugrats
-Wild Thornberry’s
-Power Rangers
-Rocket Power.
All your school supplies were “Lisa Frank” brand.
You collected those Beanie Babies.
Carebears
Lambchop’s song never ended.
Silver dollars, which were cool to have.
Everyone watched the WB.
If you even know what an original walkman is.
You know the Macarena by heart.
“Talk to the hand” . . . enough said
You went to McDonald’s to play in the playplace.
You remember playing on merry go rounds at the playground.
Before the MySpace frenzy . . .
Before the Internet & text messaging . . .
Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .
Before PlayStation3 or X-BOX 360 . . .

When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs.

You Actually played outside until it was dark!
Way back.
Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.
Repost this if you remember these days . . . .
MTV actually had something to do with music.
The HeroQuest boardgame.
The Release of 2nd Edition D&D and the 1995 revised rulebook that had a page in the front that said “THIS IS NOT 3RD EDITION”
Cellular Network Pagers because cellular phone plans were ridiculously priced.
And cellular phones weighed half a pound.
Pentium 60s catching on fire.
One of the last NES game I got was some Kirby game. I think it might have BEEN the last game released for the NES.
March 1st, 2008 at 3:04 pmI’m hoping that it has to do with me living in the Netherlands during the 90’s. SO much of this list I have absolutely never even heard of.
There’s me thinking that we got every single export TV program from “you guys” but 95% of the list is alien to me.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:49 amAh, I miss the early 90’s. The late 90’s went to crap, though. I can’t believe there isn’t anything about Cobain in the list. He was the 90’s, or at least my 90’s.
March 3rd, 2008 at 8:47 amI am an 80’s kid but I sure remember gas being under a dollar.
March 11th, 2008 at 9:45 pmMeh… Cobain was over-rated.
March 13th, 2008 at 5:06 amWhat about high-tops?!
I love high tops.
XD
(P.S. The 90s were the best! And I long for the days where I stayed up until 11 p.m. to hear the top five songs of the day so I could tape them and make a mix tape. Oooooo, yeah, baby.)
