Returns, Painful Activities
So, first, Joe is finally coming back to the states. I got an e-mail from him this morning and all I can say is that its about time. So, like, he won’t be here like this instant. They have to trek out or something to their like main base of operations and then from there he’ll be headed back. Exact dates still unknown, but soon.
My week has been eventful. I dropped the top of a modified split spoon (used for soil sampling while drilling) on top of my foot. It missed the steel toe part. There is this beautiful, painful, purple bruise forming along the side of my big toe. To add to that, I played ultimate frisbee this week. I’m now sore from the running my ass off and having to dodge and run back the opposite direction. Add in the bruised foot and its amazing I lasted 40 minutes.
The merger of my company is proceeding. I didn’t get too much extra out of it except for 3 extra holidays. Thankfully, no pay cut. And, I still can transfer to Denver (or else where… there’s a Reno office too) if I want. We were basically given a heads up on what to expect before the representative visits us. If anyone isn’t accepting the contract, their last day is friday. We have one quitting because she doesn’t like the health benefits (boohoo, you actually have to pay a deductible). SWC gave us an HSA (health savings account) account to compensate for the high deductible. From what I could tell, the copays are not tragic, but what health plan is totally awesome? I’m certainly not going to quit just because I can’t get my teeth checked twice a year or I actually have to pay for prescriptions. I think I’m too use to living between a rock and a hard place.
The company were merging with? Amec.

I was like, reading your new post and kept getting like, confused with all these like, likes in your writing and thought OMG.
OK, OK, I deserved that (never be sarcastic to a woman in pain, I must remember)…..
I always thought that the usage of the word ‘like’ was something that had been Californicized into Hollywood movies but it seems it lives on in reality too. I had just never expected to see it in writing, I thought it was more of a, like, speech thing.

I was typing in a hurry and skipped the editing part that’s suppose to make me sound professional and mature. Too many thoughts and like other like things going on.
*sticks tongue out and does a raspberry*

I think I would do the Reno x-fer if you ever wanted to transfer… that would probably be a fun little city. Plus it’s not as expensive as Denver and has lower taxes. =)

Kim - You got it! *shifty eyes*
Darvin - The only thing with Reno is they may close that office… of course, I could just get completely out of the mining division and go into another. They got an office in Hawaii… why not?
