…I haven’t taken the time to figure out what happened with the redirect on the site. I’m actually in Montana for a friend’s wedding and had a really long day.
My car, Betsy, broke down about the middle of my trip. So, I think I’ve had the week where things just like to break on me in some form or way. I took the car because (obviously) of the gas prices. I love but Bubba the truck, but he likes to drink too much. Betsy, on the other hand, is feeling her age. The belt that controls the cooling system for the engine busted about 20 minutes outside of Carey (in Idaho). The last time I took Betsy out was to Reno and she had over heating problems due to lack of anti-freeze. Well, she started having heating issues about then. And all I could think was “fuck, now what?” Ended up on the side of the road for about 30 minutes and then limped into town, wishing I believed in a higher power.
I didn’t see the broken belt until the guy started to poke around. If you’ve seen the inside of a KIA or any compact car, it’s extremely tight. Another hour later finally had me back on the road. I didn’t make my destination until midnight… I left at 8 this morning. Joe was really sweet though. He called me every couple of hours to make sure I wasn’t on the side of the road. :)
Montana is pretty though. Its one of a small handful of states that I hadn’t been too yet. The only thing that I made note of and found amusing, is the amount of “Build a Log Home” places. And a lot of the models or in progress homes… weren’t that pretty looking. They have a faux pas type log wood finish.
Completely wrong. I think people who actually buy these need to visit Alaska and see what a real log home is suppose to look like.
Below is a reason why men should never do advice columns. Bummer about the brake down.

I hadn’t gone more than a mile down the road when my engine broke down and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband’s help . When I got home I couldn’t believe my eyes. Dear Sheila,
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburettor float chamber.. I hope this helps

Oh bummer about the car but glad that you finally made it. Log cabins in Alaska would be nice to see.
