I Would Rather
I would rather heave the contents of my stomach into a toilet or the closest plant, knowing that it was something I caused myself, like drinking too much, than to wake up in the middle of the night with an incredible amount of pressure in my stomach that causes me to trip, fall, and crawl my way to the bathroom of a hotel.
The wedding was beautiful, small and quaint. The bride and groom cried at the alter… I cried too. AM looked really pretty and she couldn’t of married a sweeter guy. The food was excellent and so was the “champaign” (no… it wasn’t real and was therefore called sparkling wine). I’ll need to e-mail her as to the type so I can use it in consideration for my own festivities. Despite only knowing a few faces, the company was good too. AM chose well in seating arrangements.
I was home in the early evening, crashed for the night because of how late the previous night was… only I woke up early sunday morning with the flu. I have no idea where I got it, how I got it, or who I’ve passed it too. I’m still suffering the effects of it today. Not as bad as the previous days, but enough to make me queasy and thus distracted. Add in that my toes have been bitten up by mosquitoes that I didn’t even notice due to being the itty bitty ones (alaska has made me immune to the little guys)… sleeping a full night through has been impossible the last couple of nights. I’m home early from work to take a nap and hopefully meet up with some people later on tonight to discuss our trip plans for Baja. :D
The rest of the trip was eventful. I left early sunday with the intent of being back in Elko that night. Well, due to being sick and then tired and dehydrated and not being able to hold anything in for very long, I missed that right at Albuquerque. I ended up to far east and had to back track. I spent a night at the Ramada in Pocatella and then made my way home. I now own a map of Idaho due to leaving my road atlas on the kitchen counter. Lesson learned.
And to think… it’s only tuesday…

Yummy, give me new world sparkling wine rather than champagne anyday. Being English, it is of course my duty to not like anything french. Anyway due to the popularity of Champagne and all the associations that go along with it, sparkling wine is too often looked down upon as a product of lesser quality, however this is simply not the case. Cava is a sparkling wine from Spain and several of the producers rival those of their arrogant French counterparts. In Australia, Tasmania and the Yarra Valley are renowned for their versions of sparkling wine as is California, Oregon and Marlborough in New Zealand.
So my advice, save money and don’t buy the overly expensive french stuff.
