Dependability
Do you know what I find pathetic? A person who thinks he’s above everyone else. Yeah, you already know this. Careful, it’s a post about Nancy Boy.
I just got back from lunch and I asked him if KL made it back yet. I’m done with what he gave me and am so bored right now it’s pathetic. It’s going to be difficult to find things to match my time too. Anyways, I’m asking him what he’s working on. He tells me and then says he’s suppose to have it all done today, but is not sure if he’ll make it. It’s red lines and comments. So, I’m about to ask if he needs a hand because I have nothing right now (never mind he’s a slow poke and I can probably finish what he’s doing in half a day… I did see the drawings… yeah, I can be arrogant myself), when he continues to say, “I’ll just have to tell KL that I’m not going to the field tomorrow.”
My question? “Have you even talked to KL or TS? (TS is our field services manager and COUNTS on people to be at certain jobs at certain times especially with how limited our staffing is.)”
“NO, but they’ll just have to deal. I have a doctor’s appointment anyways.” Which you didn’t tell them about at the staff meeting and KNEW you were going to be assigned to the project site starting at the end of this week? Since when was it a choice about going to the field or not going to the field? My dear Nancy Boy, you don’t have that kind of sway and you’d be surprised what TS said about you on Tuesday. This will definitely not improve your image with the techs or TS in general.
I don’t even have that kind of say.
And it is never good to wait until the last second to tell someone, “Oh yeah, I’m not going to make it to the field, you just have to suffer and survive with your work load. I have more important things to do.” We lose all of our interns tomorrow, which is going to make things crazy for a bit. I’m not even sure yet if I’ll have to fill in spots that are now empty. But, if I’m suppose to be in the field, I’m in the field.
People in the field count on you. When someone can count on you, your suddenly considered invaluable and a great asset. They ASK to have you back because of your dependability. Nancy Boy isn’t even wanted on site. TS clearly stated that he doesn’t trust him. He messed a lot of things up the last time he was out there.
I can’t believe he hasn’t been canned yet.
Enough of that.
We got a dog. Yeah, I gave in. The tile is finally done in the bathroom. The new computer is put together. The cats hate the dog. The dog is terrified of the cats. Summary in a few short sentences.
That last paragraph has a bit of a cartoon feel to it when you write it like that. I can just imagine Joe in the bathroom do the tile and you putting the computer together while the cats chase the dog around the house ruining even more household goods.
August 14th, 2008 at 11:37 pmAh the fun of pet ownership. Now all you need is a bunny! =D
I am surprised twinkle-toes hasn’t been fired yet either. Kind of idiotic. He still in his try-out period. its easier to get rid of him during that time.
August 15th, 2008 at 7:21 amI don’t think your RSS is updating again.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:44 amRick - … I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been able to give anyone a real post that isn’t a cartoon feel.
Darvin - Twinkle toes… hahahahahahahahahhaha… I think the dog would try to lick the bunny to death. That’s what she’s been trying to do with the cats. I have to check the feeds… just updated the install so it may have corrupted files since I just copied over them. Weekend project!!
